Tours

A local sightseeing service will offer tour packages to participants from a booth located close to the Conference Registration Desk and in operation as follows:

The Social Tours are sold individually and open to all participants and Accompanying Persons. Choose your favorite way to discover Ottawa and to explore surrounding areas. All tours are organized by Gray Line located in Ottawa. Tours depart and return from the Gray Line Kiosk at Sparks and Elgin Streets. Gray Line will also operate a booth on the site of the Conference and sell tour packages to participants. The tours can be purchased ahead through the Conference Web site with a 10% discount or on-site at The Westin Ottawa at the regular rates. The booth will be located close the Conference Registration Desk. Other tours and excursions are available upon request.

Registration for Social Tours is separate from the Conference Registration and must be done directly with Gray Line. You may register by printing the form and faxing it directly to Gray Line at +1-613-238-6964.

Discover the Capital

Tours Depart Daily every 45 minutes starting at 10:00 to 16:00 hours

Hop aboard one of our London-Style open top Double Deckers. One can hop on and off at leisure at any of our stops located throughout the National Capital Region or simply take a straight 2 hour tour. Tour Highlights include; Canadian Museum of Civilization, Parliament Hill, RCMP Museum and Stables, Rideau Hall, Notre Dame Basilica, ByWard Market and the Canadian War Museum.

Your combination ticket allows you to take a Discover the Capital Tour and you have the option of choosing between Ottawa River Cruises or a Rideau Canal Cruise. (see Discover the Capital Tour for bus tour details).

The Ottawa River Cruise (Option 1) consists of a one and a half hour fully narrated boat ride along the Ottawa River. On this tour you will enjoy majestic views of Parliament Hill, Rideau Falls, and the Prime Minister’s residence – 24 Sussex Drive, as can only be seen from the riverbanks.

The Ottawa River Cruise (Option 2) consists of a seventy-five minute narrated journey through time with music, sound effects, and historical vignettes creating a floating theatre experience. Our professionally produced commentary will captivate you as the story of Ottawa unfolds in your choice of English, French, German, Japanese, Mandarin, or Spanish.

The Rideau Canal Cruise (Option 3) consists of a one and quarter hour boat ride along the world Famous Rideau Canal. This man made canal was erected to protect the British shipping lines in the early 1800’s. You will explore an 8km stretch of this 400 km waterway.
