Currency and Banking Facilities

Canadian currency is the dollar. The dollar is subject to daily fluctuations and was trading at about $1.22 US (as of October 21, 2008).

Travelers’ cheques can be cashed at numerous banks and stores (with purchases). There are numerous ATM Bank Machines in downtown Ottawa and on the University campus. Banks are generally closed on Sundays in Canada. There is a foreign exchange booth at the Ottawa International Airport.
